Since starting work as a full time thread painter for fiber artist, Chris Roberts-Antieau, machine embroidery has become my primary mode of producing work. The skills I am mastering as part of her production team have saturated my personal art practice and I have started seeing everything in thread. Embroidery is the perfect harmonization of my backgrounds in sewing and illustration. I am working behind the scenes on launching a line of embroidered clothing that serves as “costumes” for everyday life. I love the idea that the way we decorate our bodies can create opportunities to attract kindred spirits into our orbit and create openings for human connection.
